Finding Recap's Front Door Once in Winthrop Square
Winthrop Square is actually triangular (this is Boston, after all), and the numbers within Winthrop Square correspond to no recognizable pattern (that would be too easy). The triangle is bounded by Devonshire Street (which has a parking garage entrance), Otis Street, and 1 Winthrop Square, an attractive five-story Second Empire office building with a statue of Robert Burns in the brick plaza in front of it.
The triangle's apex is the intersection of Franklin and Devonshire Street, and its base is 1 Winthrop Square. Standing at that corner and looking at Winthrop Square, immediately on your right you will see a turn-of-the-century five-story curvilinear orange brick building. This is our building.
Our entrance is just up Otis Street about thirty yards from the Franklin-Devonshire corner, just before the small Bostonian alley that has a Dunkin' Donuts kiosk on its corner. It has glass doors and the address Twenty Winthrop Square in brass over the lintel.
